Profile Photo

An active member of the Knighton Lane Artists Group and the International Batik Guild.

Works are created for exhibition and commission. I like to create by freely experimenting, whatever the medium, mostly batik and other variations of resist, printed and discharge dyed textiles. I also design and create works in mosaic and offer a range of prints of my creations with natural materials in the landscape .

Selected exhibitions include shortlisted entries in 'Art In Nature' in Wallsworth Hall, Gloucestershire, 'Patterns of change' in Naples Botanical Gardens, Florida, USA and commissioned works for the National Trust, Amersham Museum and English Nature.

Works are in private collections in the UK and abroad in countries including the USA, Taiwan, Philippines, Poland, Germany and Saudi Arabia.

Inspiration comes from a variety of sources and whilst some works are conventional depictions of the natural world, others are arrived at using a more intuitive and spontaneous approach, responding to memories, dreams, lyrics, and conversations.

My practice includes teaching and facilitating. I have vast experience of working with all ages and abilities, ranging from primary to sixth form, adult education, centres for people with learning difficulties, university and community settings and I offer one to one tuition.
